MCC 5K Walk/Run for Scholarships Frequently Asked Questions

REGISTRATION:

How much is it to register? The registration fee for current MCC students registered for the Fall 2022 semester is $10.  The early registration fee for all others is $20 or $25 to "round up."  The late registration fee is $30.  Children age 10 and under are $1.  

Is there an age limit for participating? Children are welcome and may participate for a fee of $1.   

Am I required to fundraise? Technically no, but we hope you will! We encourage all participants to fundraise.  Proceeds help provide scholarship support and resources that benefit MCC students.

Will you allow registration on race day? Yes! In-person registration will open at 9 a.m. at MCC's Brighton Campus.  Virtual registration will remain open all day October 1. We cannot guarantee a 5K T-shirt in your preferred size.

Will you offer packet pick up? Yes!  Packet pick up will be available on Thursday, September 29, from 12-2 pm. at the Brighton Campus in Room 3-121.  Details about packet pick up will be emailed prior to the event.

RACE DAY:

Is the event timed? Yes, for in-person participants only.  Our timing company is Robin Hood Racing.

What happens in the event of severe weather on race day? The event will take place rain or shine! If the weather becomes too severe, the walk/run will be postponed for the safety of all participants. No refunds will be issued. We will not offer an alternate in-person date. 

How can my family and friends participate?  We invite you to recruit your colleagues, friends and family to walk or run with you! If they don't want to participate though, they can support you by making a donation.

VOLUNTEERS:

We need student volunteers to help us on the race course.  MCC student volunteers currently enrolled in the fall 2022 semester are eligible to enter the scholaship drawing when they sign up before September 27.     

DONORS:

I want to make a general donation through this event, what do I do? You are welcome to make a general donation to help support MCC students by going to the "donate" tab at the top of the home page to make a gift online or call us at 585.685.6020.

I want my donation tied to a runner or a team, what do I do? You can search for an individual participant or a team on our home page, and donate in support of them!

Can I mail you a check or call to make my donation?  Of course! Donations may be made payable to the MCC Foundation and mailed to:  MCC Foundation, 1000 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623. You can also call us during regular business hours at 585.685.6020.
